Yangguangcheng Residential Area, Longquan, China
Dishes
Specializes in red-braised ma duck (麻鸭), which is fresh, tender, and melts in the mouth. The duck blood dish is also fresh, tender, and has a clear, transparent oil with a pickled chili flavor. Portions are generous. Twice-cooked pork (回锅肉) with sweet potato starch noodles (红薯粉) is also available and well-prepared.
Service
Attentive and efficient.
Precautions
Duck dishes are notably oily, though not greasy; consider if you prefer lighter cuisine.
The spiciness level of the duck blood dish is mild (around 30% of a high tolerance); request more chili if you prefer a spicier taste.
Duck meat is pre-processed (slaughtered, deboned, possibly pre-fried) off-site and then quickly braised at the restaurant, not live-slaughtered on demand.
