Dishes

The hotpot features a beef tallow base, described as fragrant and non-reused. Notable dishes include 'Pā Niúròu' (Stewed Beef), 'Málà Niúròu' (Spicy Beef), 'Sūròu' (Crispy Meat), 'Nèn Ròupiàn' (Tender Meat Slices), 'Nǎohuā' (Brain Flower), and various fresh vegetables (e.g., enoki mushrooms, bean sprouts). The hotpot base itself is very cheap (15 RMB), and many vegetable dishes are priced at 1-3 RMB. Brain flower and stewed beef are highly recommended for their tenderness.

Service

The service is efficient, with staff promptly serving dishes and offering helpful information. They provide fresh, non-reused oil for the hotpot base.

Precautions

  • The hotpot's spice and numbing levels are milder than typical Chongqing hotpot, even with added chilies.
  • Raw taro ('Yùtou') is served and requires longer cooking time in the hotpot to become tender.
  • Sweet potato noodles ('Hóngshǔ Kuānfěn') can be very hot and are best allowed to cool slightly before eating.
  • Some ingredients like fresh enoki mushrooms ('Jīnzhēngū') and brain flower ('Nǎohuā') should be checked for freshness (e.g., enoki mushrooms should be long and without a removed root, fresh brain flower expands when cooked).
