The boiled fish is highly praised for its Q-弹 (springy) and fresh fish slices, with a familiar numbing, spicy, and fragrant flavor, although slightly oilier than before. The pickled vegetable fish is also good, offering a lighter, salty, fresh, and slightly sour taste with tender fish slices and a refreshing soup. The stir-fried pig intestine is delicious and well-cleaned. However, the shredded pork with fish flavor and Kung Pao chicken were considered average in taste and presentation, with the Kung Pao chicken being overly salty and not meeting the traditional sweet and sour balance.
Service
Service needs strengthening, as highlighted by a miscommunication during ordering (grass carp was intended, but snakehead fish was served due to reviewer's quiet voice), and the need for the reviewer to actively seek out staff for service.
Precautions
- Be very clear when ordering to avoid misunderstandings, especially with fish types.
- The fish dishes, particularly the boiled fish, might be quite oily.
- The restaurant is popular and serves many customers daily (120-150 fish, 2-3 table turns), so it might be crowded.
- Traditional stir-fried dishes might not be as impressive as the signature fish dishes.
